Using Syzl in the United States

Syzl started in Canada and is launching in the United States. Here's what's different when you use Syzl in the US.

Where Syzl is available

Syzl is available in Canada and is launching in the United States. US cities with kitchens you can book right now: Denver, Atlanta, Detroit, San Francisco and St. Louis.

Choose your country

Syzl picks a default country based on where you are. To change it:

1. Open the Me tab.

2. Tap App Settings.

3. Under Default Country, choose Canada or the United States.

This sets the country you browse kitchens in by default. You can change it any time.

Prices and currency

Prices are shown in the currency of the country where the kitchen is: Canadian dollars (CAD) for kitchens in Canada and US dollars (USD) for kitchens in the US. Service fees work the same way in both countries. See How much is it to book a kitchen?

For food makers in the US

• Identity verification: you verify your identity with a government-issued photo ID, the same as in Canada. See ID verification.

• Documents: in Me > Documentation, switch the country at the top right to US to see what US kitchens need. Your food handler certificate must be an ANSI-accredited Food Protection Manager Certification (for example, ServSafe or National Registry). See Documents and the food safety course.

• Insurance: you need valid proof of Commercial General Liability (CGL) insurance on file before you can send a booking request. For kitchens in the US, the Syzl app points you to FLIP (Food Liability Insurance Program). See the Insurance FAQ.

For kitchen hosts in the US

You can list a US kitchen the same way as a Canadian one. Payouts go to a US bank account. See How to list your kitchen and Payouts for US hosts.
